Given a trapezoid with the dimensions below


\begin{gathered} a=10\text{ ft} \\ b=10+4=14\text{ ft} \\ h=8\text{ ft} \\ l=8.9\text{ ft} \end{gathered}

To find the perimeter of the trapezoid, the formula is


\begin{gathered} P=a+b+h+l \\ a\text{ and b are the side lengths} \\ h\text{ is the height } \\ l\text{ is slant height } \end{gathered}

Substitute the values of the variables into the formula above


\begin{gathered} P=a+b+h+l \\ P=10+14+8+8.9=40.9\text{ units} \\ P=40.9\text{ units} \end{gathered}

Hence, the perimeter is 40.9 units
