From the question,

We are given the triangle

We are to find the hypotenuse

This will be done using the Pythagorean theorem

Given as

(hyp)^2=(opp)^2+(adj)^2

Where,

Hypotenuse = hyp

Opposite = opp

Adjacent = adj

Also

Opposite = 3cm

Adjacent = 4cm

This implies

(\text{hyp)}^2=3^2+4^2

Simplifying this we get

\begin{gathered} (\text{hyp)}^2=9+16 \\ (\text{hyp)}^2=25 \\ \text{hyp}=\sqrt[]{25} \\ \text{hyp }=5 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the hypotenuse is 5 cm
