Rebecca's soup recipe calls for 3/4 cup milk.

She needs 3 times as much milk to make a triple batch of soup.

How many cups of milk does Rebecca need?

Since 1 batch of soup required 3/4 cup of milk then 3 batches of soup will require 3 times of 3/4 cup of milk.

\begin{gathered} 3*(3)/(4)=(3*3)/(4)=(9)/(4) \\ or \\ (3)/(4)+(3)/(4)+(3)/(4)=(3+3+3)/(4)=(9)/(4) \end{gathered}

Which can be also be written as

(9)/(4)=2(1)/(4)

Therefore, she needs 9/4 cups of milk or 2 and one-fourth cups of milk.
