We are asked to find the probability that picking a random item from the bag is a pencil.

For this, we must first determine the total probability, which corresponds to the set of all possible possibilities. That is to say the probability of all the objects in the bag, for this we add up all the elements and this will be our global set.

6+3+5=14

Now that we have the set of possible experiments, we take out only the experiments that are one pencil, i.e. 3.

(3)/(14)=0.21428

If we multiply by 100 and round this result to find the percentage of the probability the following happens:

0.21428\cdot100=21.428\cong21.4

In conclusion, the answer is approximately 21.4%
