We have the following:

\begin{gathered} y=-x-6 \\ y=x-4 \end{gathered}

solving by substitution

\begin{gathered} -x-6=x-4 \\ x+x=-6+4 \\ 2x=-2 \\ x=-(2)/(2) \\ x=-1 \end{gathered}

The answer is x is equal -1
