When we find the domain of a rational function given in symbolic form, we find first where it is undefined.- How do we find where a rational function is undefined?- How do we find the actual domain once we know where it is undefined?- State the actual domain of () = (+5)/(x-3)

- A rational function is undefined when the number causes the denominator equal to zero.

- The domain will be all real numbers except those numbers that cause the denominator to equal zero.

f(x) = (x+5) / x-3

x-3= 0

x=3

Domain: all real numbers except x=3
