3x+5=0

In a Linear equation, whose type is ax +b=0, in order to solve it we must

1) Isolate the variable. To make it let's Subtract the 5 in both sides so that we keep the 3x on the left side alone.

2) Divide both sides by the coefficient of x, (in this case 3). We want to find the quantity of x, after all. So let's divide it by 3 since 3x : 3 = x

3) Then find the Solution Set

3x+5-5=0-5
\begin{gathered} 3x+0=-5 \\ (3x)/(3)=(-5)/(3) \\ x=-5 \\ S=\lbrace-5\rbrace \end{gathered}
