We need to calculate:


-47+(-27)

To do this, we use the fact that +*- = - :


-47+(-27)=-47-27

Now, we factor the -1 common term:


-47-27=-(47+27)

Adding the numbers in the parentheses:


-(47+27)=-(74)=-74
