Trigonometric Ratios

A right triangle is formed with the wire, the distance 'd', and the wall of the building.
We can use the trigonometric ratios in right triangles. Since 'd' is opposite to the angle of 68° and the wire is the hypotenuse of the triangle, we can use the sine ratio as follows:

Solving for d:
d = 85 sin 68°
Using a calculator, we get:
d = 78.1 ft
The distance from the pole to the building is 78.1 ft
