From the question:

if you divide each number of sales by corresponding amount, it gives 1.75

That is:

21/12 = 1.75

24.5/14 = 1.75

That's 1 muffin = $1.75

(a) The function is:

n muffin = $1.75n

(b) The number of muffins to sell to make at least $175.00 is:

since 1 muffin = $1.75

= 175/1.75

= 100 muffins

Therefore, the number of muffins to sell to make $175.00 is 100 muffins.
