Solution

Step 1

The lateral surface area of any right rectangular prism is equivalent to the perimeter of the base times the height of the prism. Therefore, the lateral surface area (LSA) of a rectangular prism = 2 ( l + w ) h square units.

Step 2

Lateral surface area:

The perimeter of the base = 1/2 x (17 + 29) x 8

Lateral surface area = 184

Lateral\text{ surface area = 184 in}^2

Step 2

\begin{gathered} Volume\text{ = Base area x Height} \\ Base\text{ area =}(1)/(2)*(17+29)*8 \\ \\ Area\text{ = 184} \\ \\ Volume\text{ = Base area }*\text{ height} \\ Volume\text{ = 184 }*\text{ 8 = 1472 in}^3 \end{gathered}

Lateral surface = 184

Volume = 1472
