The area of the figura is the sum of the area of the square + the area of the semicircle:

Area of a square = length x width = 6 x 4 = 24 in4

Area of a circle = π r^2

Where the diameter = 6 in

Radius (r) = D / 2 = 6/2 = 3 in

Area of a circle = π (3)^2 = 28.27 in2

Divide by 2 to obtain the semicircle area = 28.27/2 = 14.14 in2

Add both areas= area of rectangle + area of semicircle = 24 + 14.14 = 38.14

Best estimate = 38 in2
