George car used 16 gallons of gas to go 330 miles. How many miles per gallon did his car get.

We can use a rule of three to get how many miles the car can go with 1 gallon:


\begin{gathered} 16\text{gal}\rightarrow330mi \\ 1\text{gal}\rightarrow x \\ \Rightarrow x=(1\cdot330)/(16)=20.63 \\ x=20.63 \end{gathered}

therefore, George's car can get 20.63 miles per gallon
