In part b of this question, they are asking for the function notation that represents each statement.

So, first, what is function notation?

Well, I will show you an example:

f(x)=3x+1

For part b) i, we need to write the function notation of the area of a circle whose radius is 2.64 cm,

The area of any circle is given by the following formula:

A(r)=\pi\cdot r^2

in this problem we are told that r = 2.64 cm, therefore, A, in function notation, when r=2.64cm, will be the following:

A(2.64)=\pi(2.64)^2

Now, let's see part b) ii.

in part a, you already defined what a function for that matter would look like, so we just need to replace A = 1370 cm^2

so, the function notation form that would define it, is

g(1370)=\sqrt[]{(1371)/(\pi)}

or

g(1370) = sqrt(1370/pi)
