For independent event,

P(AandB)=P(A)\cdot P(B)

Determine the value of P(A and B).

\begin{gathered} P(AandB)=0.48\cdot0.36 \\ =0.1728 \end{gathered}

The formula for P(A or B) is,

P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AandB)

Substitute the value in thje formula to obtain the value of P(A or B).

\begin{gathered} P(AorB)=0.48+0.36-0.1728 \\ =\text{0}.6672 \end{gathered}

Thus value of P(A or B) is equal to 0.6672.
