Molly earns $2 for every cup of coffee sold.

If Molly sells 1 cup of coffee, she earns $2.

If she sells 2 cups of coffee, she earns 2*$2 = $4

If she sells 10 cups of coffee, she earns 10*$2 = $20

Now let's say she sells x cups of coffee.

Following the same rule, the earns $2*x

Putting this as an expression:

E = 2x

Where E is the earnings, and x are the number of cups of coffee Molly sells
