Solving this equation for q, we have:

\begin{gathered} (2)/(2q+3)=(1)/(8) \\ (2q+3)\cdot1=2\cdot8 \\ 2q+3=16 \\ 2q=16-3 \\ 2q=13 \\ q=(13)/(2) \end{gathered}

So the value of q is 13/2.
