In order to calculate the speed, we can use the formula:


\Delta S=V\cdot t

Where DeltaS is the distance covered, V is the speed and t is the time.

So, for DeltaS = 60 and t = 0.5, we have:


\begin{gathered} 60=V\cdot0.5 \\ V=(60)/(0.5) \\ V=120\text{ m/s} \end{gathered}

So the speed is 120 m/s.
