For this we use the slope formula, where m is the slope:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

If we take (-2, -1) as the first point and (1, -3) as the second point, we have:

m=(-3-(-1))/(1-(-2))=(-3+1)/(1+2)=-(2)/(3)
