Note:

The slope - Intercept form of the equation of a line is:

y = mx + c

where m is the slope and c in the intercept

The slope of the line perpendicular to the line y = mx + c will be given as -1/m

Let us write the given equation in the form y = mx + c

\begin{gathered} y\text{ + 2 = 6 - }(2)/(5)x \\ y\text{ = - 2 + 6 - }(2)/(5)x\text{ } \\ y\text{ = -}(2)/(5)x\text{ + 4} \end{gathered}

Comparing the above equation with y = mx + c

m = -2/5

c = 4

A line that is parallel to the graph will have a slope -1/m
