Solution

What is the lateral area of the triangular prism in square cm.

The lateral area of the triangular prism is

A_l=(a+b+c)h

Using the pythagoras theorem

\begin{gathered} b=10 \\ a=6 \\ c=x \\ b^2=a^2+c^2 \\ 10^2=6^2+c^2 \\ c^2=100-36 \\ c^2=64 \\ c=√(64) \\ c=8 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} A_l=(10+6+8)22 \\ A_l=24(22) \\ A_l=528cm^2 \end{gathered}

Therefore the lateral area of the triangular prism = 528cm²
