\begin{gathered} x=5y-13 \\ x=-3y+19 \end{gathered}

start by replacing x from the first equation into the second equation

5y-13=-3y+19

solve the equation for y

\begin{gathered} 5y+3y=19+13 \\ 8y=32 \\ y=(32)/(8) \\ y=4 \end{gathered}

replace y into the first equation to find x

\begin{gathered} x=5\cdot(4)-13 \\ x=20-13 \\ x=7 \end{gathered}

the solution for the system of equations is (7,4).
