the formula to obtain the formula of the slope is

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

we have

(-7,-8)=(x1,y1)

(0,4)=(x2,y2)

we substitute the values

m=(4+8)/(0+7)=(12)/(7)

the slope is 12/7
