a company makes wax candles shaped like rectangular prisms. each candle is 4 cm long,3 cm wide, and 10cm tall. If the company used 4080 cm^3 of wax how many candles did they make

First, lets find the volume of a single candle:


\begin{gathered} V=l\cdot w\cdot h \\ \Rightarrow V=(4)(3)(10)=12\cdot(10)=120 \\ V=120\operatorname{cm}^3 \end{gathered}

now that we have the volume of one candle,we can divide the total wax to find how many candles the company can make:


(4080)/(120)=34

therefore, the company made 34 candles
