1400 parking spots

-77 parking spots when the new library it's built.

Then:

If 1400 parking spots is 100%

Then 77 parking spots what % is?

\begin{gathered} x=(\lparen77\rparen\lparen100\rparen)/(1400) \\ \\ x=\text{ }(7700)/(1400) \\ \\ x=\text{ 5.5\% decrease in the number available of parking spots.} \\ \end{gathered}
