(b) Equation of the axis of the symmetry.

From the above graph, you can see that the graph is similar with respect to the point y = 1

Therefore, the equation of the axis of symmetry is y = 1

(c) Vertex

The vertex of a parabola that opens upward is always a minimum point on the parabola.

As you can see from the graph, the minimum point on the parabola is (1, -4)

Therefore, the vertex is (1, -4)

(d) Intercepts

The y-intercept is the point where the graph intercepts the y-axis.

From the graph, we can see that the y-intercept is (0, -3)

The x-intercept is the point where the graph intercepts the x-axis.

For the given case, there are two x-intercepts since the graph intercepts the x-axis at two points.

x = -1 and x = 3

Therefore, the x-intercepts are (-1, 0) and (3, 0)
