hello

this question is a quadratic equation and there several methods to go about this

we can use

1. completing the square

2. factorization or

3. formula method

during this session, i'll amke use of the forumla method also known as quadratic equation

z=-b\pm\sqrt{(b^2-4ac)/(2a)}
z^2+9z+10=0

let's define the parameters

a = 1 , b = 9 , c = 10

let's substitue the values into the formula and solve for z

\begin{gathered} z=-9\pm(√(9^2-4*1*10))/(2*1) \\ z=-9\pm(√(81-40))/(2) \\ z=-9\pm(√(41))/(2) \\ z=-9\pm(6.4)/(2) \\ z=-9\pm3.2 \\ z=-9+3.2\text{ or -9-3.2} \\ z=-5.8\text{ } \\ or\text{ } \\ z=-12.2 \end{gathered}

z = -5.8 or z = -12.2
