The volume of the cylinder is

V=\pi r^2h

r is the radius

h is the height

Since the volume is 30 in^3

Then V = 30

Since the radius is 1 in

Then r = 1

The value of Pi is 3.14

Substitute them in the rule above to find h

\begin{gathered} 30=3.14(1)^2h \\ 30=3.14h \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 3.14 to find h

\begin{gathered} (30)/(3.14)=(3.14h)/(3.14) \\ 9.55414=h \end{gathered}

Then the height of the cylinder is 9.55414 inches
