The slope formula m is given by

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

where the values on the right hand side come from our given points, that is

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(1,-19) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(-2,-7) \end{gathered}

By substituting these values into the slope formula, we get

m=(-7-(-19))/(-2-1)

which gives

\begin{gathered} m=(-7+19)/(-3) \\ m=(12)/(-3) \\ m=-4 \end{gathered}

then, the slope is equal to -4.
