We need to find the value of x when g(x) = -2

so,

By drawing a parallel line to the x - axis and passing through the point ( 0 , -2) and finding the intersection with the function g(x)

See the following image:

so, g(x) = -2 when


x=-2,3,4

the sum of the x - values :


-2+3+4=5
