Fanta and her brother both open savings accounts. Each begins with a balance of zerodollars. For every two dollars that Fanta saves in her account, her brother saves fivedollars in his account. Determine a ratio to describe the money in Fanta's account tothe money in her brother's account.If Fanta has 40 dollars in her account, how much money does her brother have in hisaccount? Use a tape diagram to support your answer.ÖPPEWCreate another possible ratio that describes the relationship between the amount ofmoney in Fanta's account and the amount of money in her brother's account.

Since when Fanta put 2 dollars in her account her brother put 5 dollars in his account, then

The ratio between them is

Fanta: brother

2 : 5

If Fanta has 40 dollars in her account, then by using the ratio method we can find the amount in her brother's account

Fanta: brother

2 : 5

40. : x

By using the cross multiplication

\begin{gathered} 2* x=5*40 \\ 2x=200 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 2 to find x

\begin{gathered} (2x)/(2)=(200)/(2) \\ x=100 \end{gathered}

Her brother will have 100 dollars when she has 40 dollars

By using the tape diagram, add Fanta by 2 and her brother by 5

Fanta: 2 4 6 8. 10. 12. 14 16 18. 20. 22 24. 26. 28. 30

Brother: 5 10. 15. 20. 25. 30. 35. 40. 45. 50. 55. 60. 65. 70. 75

Fanta: 32. 34. 36. 38. 40

Brother: 80. 85. 90 95. 100

Another ratio could be any number multiply by 2 and 5 (I will multiply them by 30 to get a new ratio)

Fanta: 60

Brother: 150
