Write mixed number as fractions:

3 1/2 is equal to 3 + 1/2:

3+(1)/(2)=(6+1)/(2)=(7)/(2)

6 1/2 is equal to 6 + 1/2:

6+(1)/(2)=(12+1)/(2)=(13)/(2)If it is shape 1:

The area of a triangle is:

A=(1)/(2)b\cdot h

Then, Tameka needs:

\begin{gathered} A=(1)/(2)((7)/(2)ft\cdot(13)/(2)ft) \\ \\ A=(91)/(8)ft^2 \\ \\ A=11.375ft^2 \end{gathered}

Then, if the shape of the pennant is triangular, she has enough paper (she needs 11.375 square feet)

If it is shape 2:

The area of a rectangle is:

A=b\cdot h

Then, Tameka needs:

\begin{gathered} A=(7)/(2)ft\cdot(13)/(2)ft \\ \\ A=(91)/(4)ft^2 \\ \\ A=22.75ft^2 \end{gathered}

Then, if the shape of the pennant is rectangular, she hasn't enought paper (she needs 22.75 squared feet)
