SOLUTION:

Step 1:

Red Apple = 3

Green Apple = 1

Total number of Apple = 4

Step 2:

Ham sandwich = 1

Turkey sandwich = 1

Total number of sandwiches = 2

Step 3:

To find the probability that he will grab a red apple and a ham sandwich;

This is the probability of red apple multiplied by the probability of ham sandwich.

\begin{gathered} Pr\text{ (Red) x Pr (ham)} \\ (3)/(4)\text{ }*\text{ }(1)/(2) \\ \\ (3)/(8) \end{gathered}

CONCLUSION:

The probability that he will grab a red apple and a ham sandwich is 3/8
