The y-intercept is the value of y when the value of x=0

so

For x=0

we have the interval [-2,3)

the function is

f(x)=-x+1

For x=0

substitute the value of x in the function f(x)

f(x)=-0+1

f(x)=1

therefore

The answer is option D
