The table lists recommended amounts of food to order for 19 party guests. Sydney and Nathan are hosting a graduation party for 40 guests. They know there will also be guests stopping by who may have come from other parties. For ordering purposes, they will count each of these "drop-in" guests as half a guest. How much of each food item should Sydney and Nathan order for a graduation party with 15 drop-in guests?

Each drop-in guest is counted as half guest, therefore, 15 drop-in guests will be counted as 15/2 = 7.5 guests

Total guests including drop-in guests expected at Sydney and Nathan party will be

40 + 7.5 = 47.5 guests

from the table, 19 guests will order 28 pieces of fried chicken, 4 1/3 pounds of Deli meats and 10 3/4 pounds of Lasagna, , going by this proportion,

\begin{gathered} 47.5\text{ guests will order : }(47.5)/(19)\text{ }*\text{ 28 = 70 pieces of fried Chicken} \\ \\ (47.5)/(19)*4(1)/(3)\text{ = 10}(5)/(6)\text{pounds of Deli Meats} \\ \\ \text{and } \\ (47.5)/(19)\text{ }*\text{ 10 }(3)/(4)\text{ = 26 }(7)/(8)\text{ pounds of Lasagna} \\ \end{gathered}
