To solve the exercise, take the number of pretzels and divide it by 3. So,

\begin{gathered} \text{ Number of pretzels in each bowl}=((1)/(3))/(3) \\ \text{ Number of pretzels in each bowl}=((1)/(3))/((3)/(1)) \\ \text{ Because }3=(3)/(1) \end{gathered}

Now, to divide fractions you operate like this:

((a)/(b))/((c)/(d))=(a\cdot d)/(b\cdot c)

Then, you have

\begin{gathered} \text{ Number of pretzels in each bowl}=((1)/(3))/((3)/(1)) \\ \text{ Number of pretzels in each bowl}=(1\cdot1)/(3\cdot3) \\ \text{ Number of pretzels in each bowl}=(1)/(9) \end{gathered}

Therefore, in every bowl will be 1/9 pound of pretzels.
