The given sequence : 5, 8, 11, 14, 17

Since the difference between the consecutive terms is 3

So, the Difference = 3

Thus, the Given series is an Airthmatic Progression Series :

where, first term is 5,

The expression for the nth term of an Airthmatic series is :


a_n=a+(n-1)d

Now for third term, i.e. n =3
