The difference between these two distances would be:

1.515x10^9-8.166x10^8=

As a first step to subtract scientific numbers you have to change to the same indices:

15.15x10^8-8.166x10^8

Then subtract the numbers:

(15.15-8.166)x10^8=6.98x10^8
