The general rule for the slope is:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

then, in this case we have:

\begin{gathered} m=(-9-(-5))/(-4-(-2))=(-9+5)/(-4+2)=(-4)/(-2)=2 \\ m=2 \end{gathered}

therefore, the slope is m=2
