Given:

Player B, who came in second had 14 fewer runs batted in for the 2007 regular season.

Together these two players brought home 236 runs during the 2007 regular season.

Let the player A and player B scored runs be x and y respectively.

x=y+14 ... (1)

x+y=236 .... (2)

Substitute equation (1) in (2)

y+14+y=236
2y=222
y=111
x=111+14
x=125

Player A runs battled in for the 2007 regular season is 125.

Player B runs battled in for the 2007 regular season is 111.
