Solution

Let x be the number of pennies Ann's bank can hold

So, from the question we have that

\begin{gathered} (3)/(10)x+200=(1)/(2)x \\ \\ multiply\text{ through by 10} \\ \\ 3x+2000=5x \\ \\ 2000=5x-3x \\ \\ 2000=2x \\ \\ x=(2000)/(2) \\ \\ x=1000 \end{gathered}

The answer is 1000 pennies
