m1=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)=(-4-2)/(4-(-4))=-(6)/(8)=-(3)/(4)
m2=(-1-1)/(5-0)=-(2)/(5)

the linear function goes through the points (-4,2) and (4,-4) has a slope of -3/4

and the linear function shown on the graph has a slope of -2/5

the linear function that goes through the points (-4,2) and (4,-4) has the larger slope
