Which of the following represents the composite function of applying the store discount first. and the employee discount second?

we have

100%-40%=60%=60/100=0.60

100%-10%=90%=90/100=0.90

S(x)=0.60x

and

e(x)=0.90x

therefore

s(e(x))=0.60(0.90x)=0.54x

answer is

s(e(x))=0.54x
