The function given is

f(x)=x^4-6x-8

The value of the function when x equals to -5.

f(-5)=(-5)^4-6(-5)-8
f(-5)=625+30-8
f(-5)=647.

Thus the value of the function at x =-5 is 647.

Similarly the value of the function when x=2.

f(2)=(2)^4-6(2)-8
f(2)=16-12-8
f(2)=4-8
f(2)=-4

Thus the value of the function when x=2 is -4.
