The greenhouse manager would like you to prepare 4 yd of a soilless mix with a ratio of 2 partspeat to 2 parts perlite to 1 part sand. How many cubic feet of each component are needed toprepare the mix? (Hint: 1 yd3 = 27 ft?) Round your answers to whole numbers.

Given data:

peat:perlite:sand

2yd^3:2yd^3:1yd^3

1yd^3=27ft^3

2yd^3 of peat:

2yd^3\cdot(27ft^3)/(1yd^3)=54ft^3

2yd^3 of perlite:

2yd^3\cdot(27ft^3)/(1yd^3)=54ft^3

1yd^3 of sand:

1yd^3\cdot(27ft^3)/(1yd^3)=27ft^3

There are needed 54 cubic feet of peat, 54 cubic feet of perlite and 27 cubic feet of sand to prepare the mix
