Given,

The average sugar used in one hiuse is 6 bags.

The weight of one bag of sugar is 5 pounds.

The number of people in one house is 2.

The total population in US is 344 millions.

The total weight of sugar used oin one house in one month is,

\text{Consumption of sugar in one house in one month =6}*5=30

The total number of houses in US is,

\begin{gathered} \text{Total number of houses =}\frac{total\text{ number of people }}{2} \\ =\frac{344\text{ million}}{2} \\ =172\text{ million} \end{gathered}

The weight of sugar consumed by US in one month is,

\begin{gathered} \text{Total consumed sugar=total house}* quantity\text{ of sugar used in one house} \\ =30*172\text{ million} \\ =5160\text{ million pounds} \end{gathered}

Hence, 5160 million pounds of sugar US consume per month.
