the two points are,

(0,1) and (-3,-9)

thus the distance is,


d=\sqrt[]{(-9-1)^2+(-3-0)^2}
\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(-10)^2+(-3)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{100+9} \\ d=\sqrt[]{109} \\ \end{gathered}

the two points are,

(10,-1) & (2,-5)

thus the distance is


d=\sqrt[]{(-5-(-1))^2+(2-10)^2}
\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(-4)^2+(-8)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{16+64} \\ d=4\sqrt[]{5} \end{gathered}
