SOLUTION

The difference be tween the trigonometrical identities can be defined by stating their ratios of the sides of a right triangle.

Consider the right triangle below

Using the trigonometrical ratios,

SOH CAH TOA

it follows:

\begin{gathered} \sin\theta=(c)/(b) \\ \cos\theta=(a)/(b) \\ \tan\theta=(c)/(a) \end{gathered}

Using the derived ratios, it follows

\begin{gathered} \csc\theta=(1)/(\sin\theta)=(b)/(c) \\ \sec\theta=(1)/(\cos\theta)=(b)/(a) \\ \cot\theta=(1)/(\tan\theta)=(a)/(c) \end{gathered}

The ratios shows the differences.
