Given that (x-35)° and (65 + 2x)° are supplementary angles, determine .x.

ANSWER :

x = 50

EXPLANATION :

Supplementary angles have a sum of 180 degrees.

From the problem, two supplementary angles are (x - 35) and (65 + 2x)

That will be :


\begin{gathered} (x-35)+(65+2x)=180 \\ \text{ Solve for x :} \\ 3x+30=180 \\ 3x=180-30 \\ 3x=150 \\ x=(150)/(3)=50 \end{gathered}
