To determine if the point (6,0) is a solution of the given equation you have to replace the equation with the x-coordinate of the point and calculate its corresponding y-value

y=-3x-8

Replace it with x=6

\begin{gathered} y=-3\cdot6-8 \\ y=-18-8 \\ y=-26 \end{gathered}

For the given equation when x=6, y=-26 so the point (6,0) is not a solution of the said equation.
